PlayStation VR2 takes VR gaming to a new level for PS5, delivering a greater sense of presence that lets players escape into game worlds unlike ever before. Two 2000×2040 OLED displays deliver 4K HDR visuals at up to 120fps — 4x the resolution of the original PlayStation VR — with a 110-degree field of view for an expansive sense of immersion.
Eye tracking allows you to express yourself to fellow players in lifelike ways, simulating heightened emotional responses from your in-game avatar for a more personal feel in co-op games and multiplayer team chats. Foveated rendering brings the areas your eyes focus on into sharper graphical fidelity, while keeping overall game performance stable and efficient.
The headset features an adjustable Fresnel lens, letting you customise spacing between lenses to match your eye position for an optimal on-screen image. Motion sensing is handled via a six-axis system (three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer), alongside four internal cameras for headset and controller tracking and an IR camera for eye tracking per eye.
Setup is simple — PlayStation VR2 connects to the PS5 console using a single cable, without needing an external camera. It includes PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, which pair adaptive triggers and haptic feedback (like the DualSense controller) with an orb-shaped design for intuitive, ergonomic control.
